ANNUAL MEETING

Reserve the date: Sunday, February 10, 2008.
All committees should have reports ready. Bring names of nominees to the nominating committee before the meeting so that they can be approved and a ballot made.
Make sure anyone nominated is willing to serve on the Vestry for three years. This is the duty of the persons making the nomination.
A list of those parishioners who are eligible to vote has been posted on the bulletin board outside of Reed Hall.
Please stop and see if your name is there. If not and you feel it should be, see Virginia Mayfield and she will check it out.
Voters should be at least 16 years of age, entered into the records book for at least one year, and a communicant in good standing.
There are four nominations so far for the three open Vestry slots: Dick Holmes, Olga Mactavious, Sam Alger, and Chrystie Read.

COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Excerpts from the January 13 committee meetings:

Worship Committee: Ash Wednesday — 2 services, noon and 7:30 PM. The Stations of the Cross will not be used every Wednesday during Lent. They will be used during Holy Week (perhaps on Good Friday.)
Dick Janes suggested the removal of the structure that once housed the organ pipes. This will open up the rear of the church and provide a space for the choir. More on this later. HELP will be needed from all the able bodied males of the congregation in this endeavor.
Fellowship Committee: Shrove Tuesday — There will be a pancake supper from 6PM-8PM. Anna Kueberth will be doing a flyer to provide more information. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday March 15, a Maundy Thursday Seder and an International Day in April.
Pastoral Care/Congregational Development: The nursing program was discussed. There are 5 members who are able to take blood pressures on the first Sunday of each month. Each will need to be available every 5 months. People are needed to record the readings, and we hope to rotate them also.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers were also discussed. It seems that new recruits are needed for this ministry as well as a statement of criteria for receiving visits.
Mission and Outreach Committee: More participation in Manor Care visitations is needed, both on Monday Eucharists and 4th Sunday service. Also participation with ECCP could be helpful. (Such as reading to children and playing games.)
Jack Burdnell as chairman will contact Christina Lee with regard to obtaining information about the Jericho Project.

More information will be forthcoming on all these issues.

YOUR PRAYERS ARE INVITED

Those especially in need of prayers for healing are:
The Moore Family (especially Vincent), Pyne Neepaye, Jack Burdnell, John Kingsland, Frank Hullet, Chryssie Hinegardner and Madison, Jim Deaconson, June Morris, Gertrude Chambers, Ashley Stevens, Audrey and Jess, Helen, Gerry, Virginia, Jason, Dave Baker, Jackson Biggs, and Jeanne Peters
Those recovering from surgery.
Those in need of prayers for necessities:
The safety of all our children. Keep them from all harm and temptations. For Lauren, Keith, and for Edward Gblee working in Africa.
Those who have died: For Arnold Beck, Jr.
May they rest in peace and may light perpetual shine upon them.
For those serving in our Armed Forces and for their families.
For Chenedo Mochaa-Uchefuna, Timothy Murdock, and all others serving on active duty and all those serving in harm’s way. We pray for all the victims of violence and abuse and especially for the people of Africa. For all the victims of war and the ongoing strife in the Middle East and around the world.
Keep in your prayers our Church Officers and Vestry as they make plans to carry Christ the King Church into a new year and make the decisions for calling a new Priest.
Open the minds and hearts of all Vestry persons to the needs of this Church.

Give thanks for all God’s Blessing and especially for his great love.
